Hong Kong 1975 10 cents
This specimen was lot 1225 in Goldberg Sale 139 (Los Angeles, June 2024), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "Hong Kong. 10 Cents, 1975. Nickel-Brass. Elizabeth II. Pop 7; 4 in 67. PCGS graded Specimen 65. Ex Goldberg Sale 47, May 25, 2008, lot 2740. The Peh Collection Part II." This type was struck at the Royal Mint 1971-75 and 1978-80 and this date is listed as worthless in all grades. This module and alloy was introduced in 1948 and used until 1982, when the denomination was reduced to 2 grams. British coinage for Hong Kong ceased in 1997 when the island was returned to China. The bust of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse.
