This specimen was lot 794 in Sincona sale 90 (Zurich, May 2024), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,643 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"AUSTRALIEN Elizabeth II. 1952-2022, 100 Dollars 1986, Perth. Nugget - Welcome Stranger. Selten. Nur 15'000 Exemplare geprägt. NGC PF66 ULTRA CAMEO. (Australia, Elizabeth II, 1952-2022, one hundred dollars of 1986, Perth mint, the "Welcome Stranger" gold nugget. Rare. Only 15,000 pieces struck, proof.)"

Wikipedia comments, "The Welcome Stranger is an alluvial gold nugget which is the biggest ever discovered, and was unearthed by Cornish miners John Deason and Richard Oates on 5 February 1869, 9 miles north-west of Dunolly, Australia." This issue marked the first use of this denomination. It was struck again 1987-89.
