Angola 1948 50 centavos
This type was struck 1948 and 1950 for the Portuguese colony of Angola on the west coast of Africa south of the Congo. A bronze fifty centavos (KM 75) was struck 1953-61, the last of the denomination. After a protracted struggle, Angola obtained its independence in 1975 and then dissolved into civil war as various factions contended for control.
