Sweden 1700 2 mark

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale, lot 24956

This specimen was lot 24956 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $720. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 2 Mark, 1700-HZ. Carl XII (1697-1718). NGC AU-58. Nice strike with a bold portrait. Light attractive tone with strong underlying luster and good eye appeal." This type is listed in the SCWC for 1697-1708. Tho not rare, it is priced nearly double that of the two mark of Charles XI.

Recorded mintage: 518,000.
