Stack's Bowers ANA sale, lor 1433

This specimen was lot 1433 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 1/4 Kopek, 1731. Anna (1730-40). NGC MS-63 BN. Nice strike and even toning. A few hints of mint luster in devices." This type is noted for 1730-54 and is common thru very fine. The polushka or quarter kopek was the smallest denomination.

Recorded mintage: unknown but more common than later dates issued in the millions.
