This two hundred réis was the last silver coin of this denomination, being issued 1867-69. It bears the portrait of emperor Pedro II and matches the standard of the contemporary French fifty centimes. The superseding type (KM 478), issued 1871-84, was copper-nickel.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
