Revision as of 19:12, 20 October 2023 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - " .900 fine" to " 0.900 fine")
This dinero, or dime, was struck 1888-1916 in Lima, Peru, in respectable numbers. Many were saved and uncirculated specimens are available. Most issued after 1898 were made from melted down one sol coins. Various overassayers exist for this date. A earlier type, with a slightly different figure of seated Liberty, was issued 1863-77 (KM 190). The silver coin was replaced in 1918 by a copper-nickel ten centavos.
Recorded mintage: unknown but fairly common.
Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM 204.2.
