Peru 1898-JF 1/5 sol
This quinto was struck 1888-1917 in Lima, Peru. Most dates are readily available but 1914, 1915 and 1917 are scarce. For 1898 there are no known overdates, but "open 9" and "closed 9" varieties are listed. The type was replaced by a copper-nickel twenty centavos in 1918. An earlier type, with a slightly different figure of seated Liberty, was struck 1863-75 (KM 191).
