Papal States 1775 giulio

from the Tom Fitzgerald Collection

This type was issued in 1775 only for the new pope Pius VI to honor the proclaimed Holy Year. The giulio was ten baiocchi, while the scudo was one hundred baiocchi. The SCWC notes this type as common. It was the last giulio issued in the eighteenth century.
