Vatican 1942 10 c rev Tom F.jpg

This type was issued 1942-46 for Pius XII, the second pope to rule over the newly independent Vatican City. It is scarce as the Rome mint had little resource to mint coins. The dove of peace offers the world an olive branch and found few takers in 1942.

Recorded mintage: 7,500.

Specification: brass.

Catalog reference: KM 32, Ber-3393.
