Cooch Behar about 1792, from Shepherd's atlas

This specimen was lot 71526 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Cooch Behar. Rupee, SE 1477 (1555). Nara Narayan. NGC MS-63. This highly attractive Choice Rupee displays some handsome luster and a full strike." Cooch Behar is today in the strip of India which divides Bhutan from Bangladesh. KM 34 is not listed in the 17th century edition of the SCWC in our possession.
