from the Stack's Bowers October 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71838

This specimen was lot 71838 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $80. The catalog description^[1] noted, "NORWAY. 2 Ore, 1912. Kongsberg Mint. Haakon VII. NGC AU-58 Brown. This wholesome and gently handled example displays lovely rich chocolate brown patina." This type was struck at Oslo 1909-15, 1921-23, 1928-40 and 1946-52. The 1912 is a key date.
