Revision as of 15:10, 27 September 2021 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "multipules" to "multiples")
The name 'Republica de Venezuela' replaced 'Estados Unidos de Venezuela' on all coinage from 1953. Bolivar fractionals and multiples continued to be silver until 1964, at which point they became nickel in composition.
The coin shown is a 1977 five centimos struck in London for Venezuela; the reverse is altered somewhat from earlier issues, and the composition was changed to copper-clad steel for the years 1974-1977.
Recorded mintage: 600,000,000.
Specification: copper-clad steel.
Catalog reference: Y 49.
