This specimen was lot 5622 in Goldberg sale 72 (Los Angeles, February 2013), where it sold for $1,075. The catalog description[2] noted, "German States - Saxe-Old-Weimar. Taler, 1580. Friedrich Wilhelm I and Johann III, 1573-1602. Facing bust dividing date. Reverse: Facing bust. Well struck with attractive old iridescent toning. PCGS graded AU-55." This type was struck 1579-81.
