Stephen Album sale 43, lot 1222

This specimen was lot 1222 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE: Napoleon I, as Emperor, 1804-1814, AR ¼ franc, 1807/6-K, lightly cleaned, mintage of only 5,538 pieces, F-VF, Scarce." This is a scarce date of a type struck 1806-07 at six mints. Le Franc reports that all known specimens are the overdate shown here.

Recorded mintage: 5,520.

Specification: 1.25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 15 mm diameter.
