This specimen was lot 3189 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAVOY: Carlo Emanuele II, 1648-1675, AE 2 denari, 1664, scarce type in high grade with lovely original color, VF-XF. ex Dr. Robert A. Rosenfeld Collection." This scarce type has no photo in the SCWC. The duchy of Savoy was a poverty-stricken state subject to frequent foreign invasion and its coinage is scanty.
