This specimen was lot 1627 in Goldberg Sale 139 (Los Angeles, June 2024), where it sold for $2,310. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada. 50 Dollars, 1982. Elizabeth II. Reverse: Maple leaf. Brilliant Uncirculated." The Canadian Maple Leaf was introduced in 1979 as competition for the krugerrand. This subtype was struck 1979-82; different busts of the queen have been used over the years.
