Turkey has, since World War Two, a history of inflation. The new lira superseded the old lira at the rate of 1,000,000 to one in 2003. This 25 kurush bears the stern visage of Kemal Ataturk, founder of the Republic. It is listed in the SCWC for 2009-2013 altho later dates exist. As of August 2023, US$1 = 27.16 lira, making this coin worth about US$0.009.
