This specimen was lot 75579 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Rappen, 1932-B. Bern Mint. PCGS MS-67 Red. Sensational quality, this piece borders on perfection with even red surfaces and nary a mark to be seen. Certainly RARE in this quality, however likely to remain rather affordable, thus presenting a great opportunity for the collector on a budget." This type was struck at the Bern mint 1902-1941. This is a common date. Zinc rappen were minted during World War Two and when bronze rappen resumed in 1948, a modified design was introduced.
Recorded mintage: 5,000,000.
Specification: 1.5 g, bronze, 16 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-3.2.
