Stack's Bowers October 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75281

This specimen was lot 75281 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Gold Proof "Hogwarts Express" 25 Pounds, 2022. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. A wonderful example of a coin to celebrate a popular book and movie series. Technically perfect and charming." This design was also used on a silver ten pounds (KM 2229), silver five pounds (KM 2206), silver two pounds (KM 2179) and silver fifty pence (KM 2164/2164a/2164b).

Recorded mintage: 660.

Specification: 7.8 g, 0.999 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, reeded edge.
