Stack's Bowers May 2025 Collectors Choice Online Auction, lot 74392

This specimen was lot 74392 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "BULGARIA. 100 Leva, 2013. Sofia Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo." St. Constantine and St. Helena are featured on this NCLT. Constantine (272-337 AD, r. 306-337) was the emperor who converted the Roman Empire to Christianity and St. Helena (c. 246-330 AD) was his mother. This NCLT was struck after the fall of communism and after the currency was reformed (1000 old leva = 1 new lev).

Recorded mintage: 2,000.

Specifications: 8.64 g, 0.999 fine gold, 24 mm diameter, AGW: 0.2775 oz, plain edge, designed by Mihaela Kamenova.
