Sincona sale 92, lot 48

This specimen was lot 48 in Sincona sale 92 (Zurich, October 2024), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$520 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN Afsharid Dynasty, Adel Shah, 1160-1161 AH (1747-1748). Abbasi 1163 AH (1749/1750), Isfahan Mint. Vorzüglich-FDC. Leicht gereinigt, About Uncirculated, Lightly cleaned. Purchased from G. Moussesian, Munich, in 1998."

According to the SCWC, this ashrafi was struck AH 1160-1161 at Isfahan (shwon here), Herat, Mashhad, Qazvin and Shiraz. Adel Shah was defeated and deposed in June 1748 and executed a few months later. We don't know who issued this coin in Adel Shah's name.
