This specimen was lot 33679 in Heritage sale 3114 (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $2,340. The lot description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Elizabeth II gold Proof "Yale of Beaufort" 100 Pounds (1 oz) 2023 PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC. Tudor Beasts series. First Releases. A pristine Proof, one of only twelve First Releases labeled awarded the highest technical grade at NGC." The yale is a mythical antelope with a boar's tusks and swiveling horns. Lady Margaret Beaufort (1443-1509), who used this beast on her arms, was Henry VII's mother.

Recorded mintage: 410.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold, 1 troy oz AGW, 32.69 mm diameter.
