Heritage sale 3076, lot 34060

This specimen was lot 34060 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $432. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Great Britain: Victoria Shilling 1875 MS65 PCGS. Die #53. Pure visual delight, the winter silver glow of the central regions accentuated be contrast against a ring of red, gold, and light blue tones in the peripheries to tremendous effect. A coin which seems to push the upper bounds of its assigned grade." This shilling was struck 1838-87 for circulation. This subtype, with die numbers, was issued 1867-79.
