The specimen shown is from a type struck for Guatemala since 1998. This coin is common in all grades thru uncirculated. This denomination had for many decades been covered by a half quetzal note. The white nun orchid featured here last appeared on the fifty centavos of 1963. The SCWC lists only 1998, 2001 and 2007 for this type.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 5.5 g, nickel-brass, 26.5 mm diameter.
