This specimen was lot 44708 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Penny, 1912. London Mint. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown Gold Shield. A lustrous and bright coin, with full mint red in the fields." This half penny was introduced on the accession of George V in 1911 and retained the Britannia reverse first used in 1860. Persistent striking problems caused modifications to the bust in 1925 and again in 1928 tho all the circulating denominations were similarly afflicted. This is a common date.

Recorded mintage: 21,186,000.

Specification: 5.40 g, bronze, 25.5 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-809; S-4056.
