from the Stack's Bowers 2017 ANA sale, lot 21471
Scotland SB817-21471r.jpg

This specimen was lot 21471 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 2/3 Ryal (20 Shillings), 1568. James VI (1567-1625). PCGS Genuine--Tooled, EF Details Secure Holder. Minor scratches from long ago on reverse in fields flanking crowned arms now toned over. A lovely example despite the noted defect on the holder. Well struck with attractive old cabinet tone."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: S-5474.
