Jean Elsen sale 145, lot 1080

This specimen was lot 1080 in Jean Elsen sale 145 (Brussels, September 2020), where it sold for €130 (about US$185 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Royaume, Charles IX (1560-1574), Billon double sol parisis, 1571K, Bordeaux. D/ Trois lis posés 2 et 1, sous une couronne. R/ Croix fleurdelisée. Très Beau. (kingdom of France, Charles IX, 1560-74, Very Fine.)"

This type was struck 1568-74 at many mints in many varieties. It had a face value of thirty deniers tournois.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.26 g, .529 fine silver, this specimen 2,67 g.
