This specimen was lot 32244 in Heritage sale 3105 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $66,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Immense 'David Bowie' 1000 Pounds. Elizabeth II gold Proof 'David Bowie' 1000 Pounds (Kilo) 2020 PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC. Music Legends Series. Limited Edition Presentation Mintage: 11. The lowest-mintage and highest-denomination issue struck in commemoration of the music and film legend David Bowie. Arguably the most iconic design of this series, whose competitors are covetable in their own right, yet here on full display on the kilo-sized canvas. A perfectly endowed representative of the type and the first of this format we've yet to offer. Accompanied by the original case of issue and COA #04." This, like many recent British NCLT's, is missing from the SCWC. We will refer to it by its Spink number.

Recorded mintage: 11.

Specification: 1000 g, 0.999 fine gold, 32.149 troy oz AGW, 100 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM unlisted, Fr-694, S-DB10.
