Sincona sale 98, lot 4081

This specimen was lot 4081 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$145 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Bern, Stadt und Kanton, Halbbatzen 1546, Bern. Sehr schön. Avers: Schrötlingsfehler. Exemplar der Auktion Meister & Sonntag 9, Stuttgart, Mai 2010, Los 748. (Switzerland, city and canton of Bern, half batzen of 1546, Bern mint. Very Fine, Flan flaw.)"

Half a batzen was two kreuzer. This type was struck 1530, 1537-38 and 1546-51.
