Stephen Album sale 50, lot 575
Stack's Bowers October 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75346
this example is dated AH 1200 (١٢٠٠)
Rajputana in 1907, showing Jaipur in the center right

The first specimen was lot 575 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAIPUR: Pratap Singh, 1778-1803, AV mohur, Sawai Jaipur, year 28 (1787), in the name of Shah Alam II, an attractive lustrous mint state example, NGC graded MS62. Erroneously dated 1863 on the NGC holder." The second specimen was lot 75346 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $2,400. The catalog description[2] noted, "INDIA. Jaipur. Mohur, AH 1200 Year 28 (1787). Sawai Jaipur Mint. In the name of Shah Alam II. NGC MS-64. Incorrectly dated '1863' on holder. An enticing, highly reflective gold beauty that easily merits its near-Gem status." The SCWC lists this type for years 15, 25, 43 and 44. Other dates likely exist.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 10.7-11.4 g, gold.

Catalog reference: KM-55 (unlisted date), Haritwal-71, Fr-1179.
