This type was produced at four mints (Munich, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Hamburg) in 1950 in such numbers that no more were struck until 1966. The Stuttgart mint mark was "F". The last issue for circulation was in 1996 and the type was retired in 2002 with the coming of the euro.
Recorded mintage: 7,500,000 + 45,000 proofs.
Specification: 2 g, copper plated steel, 16.5 mm diameter.
