This specimen was lot 4996 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it sold for $2,990. The catalog description [2] noted, "Italian States - Genoa. 2 Scudi, 1715-FMS. Ornate cross with cherub heads and wings in angles. Reverse: Madonna and child on a cloud, two cherubs above. Comes with photo certificate, not in holder. PCGS Genuine, Surfaces Tooled. Our Grade sharpness of Very Fine." This type was struck in Genoa 1649-1719 and is accompanied by an even larger three scudi and four scudi!
