The specimen shown is a ten centimes of a type struck under the Third Republic of France 1898-1921. All are Paris mint issues. There are 31 dates in the series, some expensive but only the 1905 is rare. The total production for the series is about 122 million. The design was also used on bronze one, two and five centimes of the Belle Epoque. All the bronze ten centimes pieces were demonetized in 1935.
Recorded mintage: 7,903,000.
Specification: 10 g, bronze, 30 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Jean-Baptiste Daniel-Dupuis (1849-99).
