This specimen was lot 1956 in Sincona sale 59 (Zurich, October 2019), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$363 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916. Dukat 1904, Wien. FDC. (empire of Austria, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, ducat of 1904, Vienna mint. Uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1872-1915 and is common. The SCWC notes that more were restruck after World War One, all dated 1915. No mintmark appears on this type. Gold ducats were struck throughout Franz Josef's long reign and come in many types.
Recorded mintage: 517,118.
Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.49 g, 19.8 mm diameter.
