This specimen was lot 1017 in Stephen Album sale 45 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH INDIA: Victoria, Empress, 1876-1901, AR 2 annas, 1883-C, a lovely toned lustrous example! PCGS graded MS63." This type was struck 1877-1901 in substantial quantities at Bombay and Calcutta. It was the smallest denomination struck in silver. This date has an incuse mintmark and is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: 2,736,000, fairly common.

Specifications: 1.46 g, .917 fine silver.
