Stack's Bowers 2015 NYINC sale, lot 1680

This specimen was lot 1680 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,645. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 4 Daler Plate Money, 1728. Fredrik I (1720-51). 8.25 x 9 in. (Tingstrom: 113 examples known including 15 pieces from the Nicobar). All stamps quite bold. The center stamp is full and complete, while the corner stamps have four full legible dates, two are ever so slightly off the plate. Scattered small shallow impressions to right of center stamp. Nice light reddish brown patina. EXTREMELY FINE."
