This specimen was lot 72355 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Blanc Guenar, ND (1380-1422). Charles VI. NGC EF-40. Obverse: Coat-of-arms; Reverse: Cross potent, with crown and lis alternating in angles. A deeply toned example yielding a good deal of brilliance remaining underneath." This type, with a face value of 10 deniers tournois, was issued over six emissions. The first emission was 3.26 g, 0.479 fine. The second emission of September 1389, which we believe is shown here, was 3.29 g, 0.439 fine. The sixth and final emission was 3.06 g, 0.212 fine. The second emission is noted for the round "O's" in the legends.
