Sincona sale 38, lot 2013

This specimen was lot 2013 in Sincona sale 38 (Zurich, May 2017), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$400 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Taufa`ahau Topou IV. 1965-2005 1/2 Hau 1986. Polierte Platte. FDC. (kingdom of Tonga, Taufa`ahau Topou IV, 1965-2005, half hau of 1986. Choice Proof.)"

This NCLT was issued by Tonga to honor the 25th anniversary of the World Wildlife Fund by featuring a local guinea fowl.

Recorded mintage: 5,000 proofs.
