France 1910 centime rev DSLR.jpg

The specimen shown is a one centime of a type struck under the Third Republic of France 1898-1920. All are Paris mint issues. There are 19 dates in the series, some expensive but only the 1900 and 1910 are rare. The total production for the series is about 31 million. The design was also used on bronze two, five and ten centimes of the Belle Epoque. All the bronze one centime pieces were demonetized in 1940, by which time they were worthless.

Recorded mintage: 1,500,000.

Specification: 1 g, bronze, 15 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Jean-Baptiste Daniel-Dupuis (1849-99).

Catalog reference: F.105/12, Gad-89; KM 839.
