This specimen was lot 21356 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $4,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. Demy, ND. James I (1406-37). NGC AU-55. Mintmark crown/cross, lion rampant on lozenge; reverse: saltire and lis within ornate tressure, large quatrefoils in angles, lis stops on both sides. Well struck with partial rims. A RARE and popular type. Light toning and fully original." This and a half demy (Fr-9) are the only gold coins listed for this ruler.
