This specimen is a copper sol struck at the Lille mint in 1777. It is slightly scarce, being priced by Droulers[1] about 25% more than the common date (1791-A). Its face value was twelve deniers tournois. The type was struck for France 1777-91 and is known from Lille for the entire span.

Recorded mintage: unknown but slightly scarce.

Specification: 12.24 g, copper, 28-31 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Benjamin Duvivier.
