This specimen was lot 93 in Schulman auction 385 (Amsterdam, July 2025), where it sold for €260 (about US$368 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Denmark]] - 1 Speciedaler 1769-HSK, Silver, CHRISTIAN VII 1766-1808, RETHWISCH Crowned monogram. Rev. Crowned coat of arms. Very fine." Three different speciedalers were struck in 1769: [[Denmark 1768-HSK speciedaler Dav-1304|KM 603/Dav-1304]], [[Denmark 1769-HSK speciedaler Dav-1305|KM 607/Dav-1305]] and KM 608/Dav-1306, shown here. The Rethwisch mint, a subsidiary to the Royal Mint in Copenhagen, operated for only three years, 1768-1770, when it was moved to Altona.
