This specimen was lot 3315 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 260 CHF (about US$327 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"UNGARN, Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916 8 Forint-20 Francs 1879. Kremnitz. Vorzüglich-FDC. (kingdom of Hungary, Francis Joseph (1848-1916) eight forint/twenty francs of 1879, Kremnitz mint, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was issued for Hungary 1870-80 from the Kremnitz (Komoczbanya in Magyar) mint during the reign of Emperor Francis Joseph of Austria-Hungary. The denomination was struck 1870-92 to match the standard of the French twenty francs d'or. Most dates are common.
