This specimen was lot 1056 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $4,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "CZECHOSLOVAKIA. Ducat, 1931. Kremnica Mint. PCGS MS-66. An absolute marvel, this example has very few marks and a showy luster that is very attractive. Unsurpassed in grade at PCGS, it is sure to drive much interest in its supreme condition." During the brief existence of the first republic of Czechoslovakia (1918-39), the Kremnica mint managed to produce gold one dukat, two dukaty and five and ten dukatu issues 1923-38. The obverse portrait is of "good" king Wenceslas, he of the well-known Christmas carol.
Recorded mintage: 43,482.
Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, 0.109 troy oz ASW.
Catalog reference: Fr-2; KM-8.
