The second specimen was part of lot 27082 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), which sold for $940. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic Lot of Twenty 10 Centimos Coins, Most are early 20th century examples. Many are mint state. Some scarce issues here. Sold as is, no return lot. The Cecil Webster Collection of Costa Rica." This brass type was struck in San José in 1936 and 1941. The colon was introduced in 1897 and reformed (devalued) in 1917 and 1920.
