Jean Elsen sale 145, lot 1018

This specimen was lot 1018 in Jean Elsen sale 145 (Brussels, September 2020), where it sold for €420 (about US$599 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Royaume, Charles VII (1422-1461), AR petit blanc au K, dit "des gens d'armes", décembre 1431, Loches (L final). D/ Dans le champ, K oncial couronné, accosté de deux lis. R/ Croix pattée. Très rare Belle patine. Très Beau. Provient de Monnaies 18, 19 juin 2003, 1108. (kingdom of France, Charles VII, 1422-61, silver small blank of the K, December 1431, Loches mint. Obverse: in the field, a crowned uncial "K" dividing two lilies; reverse: cross pattée. Very rare, nice patina. Very Fine.)"

This petit blanc au K was worth five deniers tournois, half the better known blanc au K (Dupl-474).

Specification: 1.91 g, 0.319 fine silver, this specimen 1,82 g.
