The Kingdom of Bulgaria arose after the weakening of the Ottoman Empire and continued up to World War II. The king at this time, Boris III, chose the Axis side and was deposed by the Communists in 1943 as the Soviet army approached. All coinage post-WWII was for the People's Republic, up to the collapse of the Communist regime in 1989. Thereafter it was reformed as a Republic. The coin shown is a brass one stotinka.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 1.8 g, aluminum bronze, 16 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 237.
