US 1963 dime cua.jpg

This dime was introduced in 1946 to honor president Franklin Roosevelt who had died in office the previous year. It was issued in silver 1946-64 and converted to copper-nickel clad copper in 1965, in which alloy it is still being minted. None of the silver issues are rare tho the 1949-S and 1950-S are slightly scarce. The 1963 is very common tho many thousands have been melted.

Recorded Mintage: 126,725,645.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .072 troy oz ASW, 17.9 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by John R. Sinnock.

Catalog reference: KM 195.
