This specimen was lot 652 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"NAMUR, Comté, Philippe II (1555-1598), AR demi-écu Philippe, 1592. D/ B. cuir. à g. R/ Ecu couronné sur une croix de Bourgogne, entre deux briquets, portant le bijou de la Toison d'or. Très rare Frappe faible. Beau à Très Beau. (county of Namur, Philip II, 1555-98, half écu Philippe of 1592. Obverse: armored bust left; reverse: crowned arms over a Burgundian cross between two briquets bearing the jewels of the Golden Fleece. Very rare, weak strike, Fine - Very Fine.)"
The county of Namur is to the south of Brabant and remained Catholic and loyal to Spain. It is today part of Belgium.
